The Notice Board, daily assignments, and reminders

A Proclamation

Last month the Order of the Quill stepped out of the shadows. This month it put up a notice board.

The Notice Board

It gathers everything about your studies in one place: today’s assignments, your records of attendance, how much you have read and practiced, where you stand within the Order, and your reading bookmarks.

Too busy to study today? The Order is merciful. It understands, and therefore grants you a day off for every seven consecutive days of attendance, up to ten saved (we can’t have people not show up for several months in a row all of a sudden. The Scriptorium needs to keep up some discipline at least). On a day you miss, a day off is used automatically, and both your attendance and your reward stay intact.

The three attendance counters on the Notice Board: 15 attendance days, 1 available day off, and 6 attendance days to the next day off
Fifteen days in, one vacation day at hand

Your days of attendance are now recorded. Any activity toward any of your assignments for that day counts as attendance. Ah yes, speaking of…

Daily assignments

Becoming and staying consistent is a challenge. We know it, you know it, the Order knows it, everybody knows it. The Order has therefore taken it upon itself to post a few assignments for you every day, drawn from what you are already reading and practicing. They are meant to be small, achievable goals to break up the monotony and to keep your studies engaging.

The calendar and the reward for diligence

Show up day after day and the Order rewards you with a little bonus added to every XP reward you earn, in the tale and in the exercises alike.

Your standing

The Notice Board shows your current rank within the Order, assuming you’ve been worthy of an invitation, of course, as well as your progress toward the next one.

Keep at your studies, fill the inkwell, and the honor of rising in the ranks may be yours.

Vocabulary card

A small overview of your studies. How much you learned over time, and what you learned recently.

The Vocabulary card: words learned and study time over the last 7, 30 and 90 days and all time, and the five most recently learned words

Exercises card

A small overview of your success rate in the exercises and which pesky lexical units are giving you the most trouble.

A daily reminder

Reading a few pages a day is all it takes, and the hardest part is remembering to do so. Quilingo can now send you a short email every day at the time you choose.

The reminder settings are at the bottom of the Notice Board and in your Account Settings. The reminders need an account, so the Order knows where to send them.

And a few small things

The Notice Board also holds the bookmarks, so you can jump straight to reading.

And as usual, this update brings a large number of smaller fixes and improvements in all nooks and crannies of Quilingo.

Enjoy! Yes, yes, we know where our workbenches are.

by the will of the Order
